Working for a better future

Thank you for voting Green! Councillor Martin Ford was re-elected for East Garioch and as the first Green on Aberdeenshire Council.

Click here to read IMPROVING ABERDEENSHIRE Green proposals for better local government, 2012-2017.    This provides the basis for our decisions over the next five years.

We know that many people voted Green for the first time and that more wanted to do so.  We will try to stand more candidates in future but we need to target our resources and not spread ourselves too thin.

No party has overall control in Aberdeenshire.  The breakdown on Aberdeenshire council is 28 SNP (+6), 14 Conservative (=), 12 LibDem (-12), 11 Independent (+3), 2 Labour (+2), 1 Green (+1)

In Aberdeen City, we had some wonderful results but no success.  It was clear that many people supported our move to Retain UTG in the face of the unfair referendum.

A big thank you to all our candidates, members and supporters for the work they put in - and to the public for voting Green and helping elect the first Green councillor in Aberdeenshire.
